Mustangs Go 3-0 in RMAC Crossover Volleyball Tourney, Sweep Mines, Regis

Grand Junction, CO -- Western New Mexico Volleyball ran its league-best record to 20-4 (11-2 RMAC) with two more wins Saturday in the RMAC East-West Crossover in Grand Junction. The Mustangs notched three-game wins against Colorado Mines and Regis along with Friday's sweep of Colorado Christian to go 3-0 in the second and final crossover of the season. The Mustangs were 6-0 against the RMAC's East Division for the season.

Liz Narkon, who seems to be returning to form, led WNMU with 12 and 16 kills respectively against Mines and Regis. Jennifer Snowbarger (Oskaloosa, IA/Oskaloosa High School) added 13 against Regis and 11 against Mines.

Defensive specialist Melanie Tang (Honolulu, HI/Mary Knoll High School) led with 27 digs for the two games.

The Mustangs return to Silver City for a four-match homestand. Friday it's against Mesa State, and Saturday West Division leader Fort Lewis comes to town for a match that could determine the host for the RMAC Championship. WNMU has the best record in the RMAC with its 20-4, 11-2, but Fort Lewis and Nebraska Kearney are close behind with 10-3 RMAC marks. The Mustangs defeated UNK earlier this season, but lost to Fort Lewis on the road.
